LUIS' ART STUDIO 2015

My name is Luis Eduardo Torres Camacho; I am a Fine Art Painter, working with Acrylics and Oil Paint on Canvas, Board, Wood, etc. I use Illustrator for digital illustrations, and drawings. My work is a vibrant exploration of color and the human form, predominantly focusing on women's faces and bodies. Utilizing a bold palette of primary and secondary colors, I aim to break the traditional contours and factual lines that define a face or body. Acrylics are my medium of choice due to their affordability compared to oil paints, although my artistic journey also includes experience with oils and gouache. The female form holds a profound meaning and soulful depth for me, which I strive to convey in every piece. When selecting my subjects, I follow a simple yet powerful criterion: I must fall in love with or deeply admire the person. This emotional connection is crucial as it drives the authenticity and intensity of my work. The elements that draw me to a particular scene are usually the face, eyes, and mouth. These features are central to my compositions and are always accentuated with black strokes, a technique that brings focus and drama to the pieces. My inspiration stems from the beauty of the soul and, at times, the fear of unrequited love. This duality of emotions shapes my approach and infuses my work with a layer of vulnerability and depth. Before I begin painting, I study the face and mentally deconstruct it into geometric sections. This method allows me to paint each part in different colors, creating a distinctive and unique visual experience. This technique not only plays with visual perception but also symbolizes the multifaceted nature of human emotions and relationships. Through my art, I endeavor to capture and express the profound beauty and complexity of the human soul.
